I've gotta tell you, I have never been good at these introduction-type posts. Every time I've tried to do one, it comes out as some combination of self-serving, pointless, and dull. Still, given that I am the new guy around here, I suppose I should do one. So keep reading for most anything you would ever care to know about me.

Like it says up there under the title, my name's Matt. I am the author of this blog , which has the same name as my blog here at Texans Talk.

Other than that, I can't think of too much that is actually important, at least as it would relate to this place. I live in Little Rock1, am a lawyer who doesn't work as a lawyer2, and am married with one son.

Uh... let's see. My goal when writing is to shoot for entertaining and hope that I brush up against humorous from time to time. I overuse footnotes, but only because they make me laugh. (I am also partial to parentheticals for the same reason.) I generally find way more time than one would expect to post from work, so most of my substantial posting (at both blogs) is normally done between 8 and 5.

I don't expect that this blog will be a mirror of the other one. Because that would be really dull. My goal is to have some overlap, posting the entries that I like best on both blogs, while also having original content on each.

That's about it. If there is anything else you want to know about me, or if there is anything else you feel like chatting about, feel free to email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

1 Yes, that's right, I'm an Arkansan. I am sure that will provide hours of laughter for y'all.

2 Before you ask, Lord no, I did not go to law school in Arkansas. Actually, you might not have asked (or even wondered), but I get defensive about that.

Rooting for the Texans
Well... that's a long, somewhat convoluted story. It involves a seething hatred for both Missouri-based teams, an unexpected arrival in Little Rock, a touch of masochism, and a couple other twists and turns.
