I was talking to someone from the Texans the other day, and they said they are in the process of working on the Bull Pen Pub, the area at the north side of Reliant Stadium, obviously behind the Bull Pen.  The Texans want the Bull Pen Pub to be an area where fans may want to meet up, and want fan suggestions on how to make it a better place.

Do you have any ideas?  Here's a few of mine....

Bull Pen Pub Ideas:

1. More servers.  The few times I visited, the line got so long and was so slow, I risked missing the game.

2. TV inside the pub.  If you were in line, once you got inside, you couldn't see the TV.  So if the game was on, and you were in that big long line, you were missing some plays.

3. Make it more of a destination.  I've been told that the logistics of having franchised food options in other parts of the stadium is difficult.  That the franchisers have a difficult time prepping food for the limited games of an NFL season.  That being said, having a quick, fast food option with all that space over there, would make that more of a destination location in the building.  If it were in just one location, the logistics of setting it up should be easier than locations throughout the building.

For example, I used to go out of my way to go to the Cuervo Cantina in order to get some Taco Arandas.  For stadium Mexican food, it was pretty good.

Do you have any other ideas???  Please leave some comments, even if you are just saying you agree with what I'm saying so that they know it isn't just me that thinks this way.  I'm going to be sending this link to the Texans as they really do want the Bull Pen Pub to feel like it is theirs.

I have always said that they needed a TV in the pub. I like having non alcoholic drinks like coke, water, etc..but I also want to be able to get my non alcoholic beer when buying my wifes beer. The pictures were a nice touch last year and it would be nice if they continued the idea.

In the vein of making it a destination, maybe the Texans could provide some value added stuff there. A guest speaker from the front office staff before games, that sort of thing.

More Suggestions
Here's some more suggestions I've heard from others who had a hard time posting them here:

1. Put a Whataburger over there. Nothing says Texas like a Whataburger. They have experience doing franchised food because they had an outlet at the old Compaq center.

2. Needs to be better than the South Side's area. Positives: Selection of beer, pictures on the wall
Negatives: Selection of beer, and, ummmm, it's really just a concession window

If they want to have a "Bullpen Pub," they need to make a "pub." Mark off an area, slide some tables and chairs together, add servers, and make the bar bigger (stretch it out and add more beer selection and bartenders)...for starters.

They need to make it a real destination.
